The Center SpotlightDestino 2014 Thank you for making the Latino Center of the Midlands Annual Destino Dinner a huge success. Last night’s event was held at the historic Livestock Exchange Building. The evening began with cocktails, a silent auction and a top-shelf tequila tasting followed by a dinner and program. Our honorary chairs for the event were Jim Grotrian of Metropolitan Community College and BJ Reed of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. This year’s program theme focused on education and our keynote speakers were Tania Moreno and Arturo Mejia. Destino, or destiny in Spanish, aptly describes the Latino Center of the Midland’s role in positively impacting the destiny and future of the community. Every day, the Latino Center of the Midlands enhances the opportunities for youth, adults and families by providing basic adult education, GED preparation, computer instruction, citizenship and civic engagement classes; student and parent engagement services in the public schools; assistance in accessing social, legal and financial services and much more. Thank you all for the awesome show of support at the 2014 Destino Dinner! ¡Gracias a todos por su gran apoyo esta noche en la cena de Destino 2014! Support the Latino Center of the Midlands.
